Every year, the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative (ESI) provides opportunities for undergraduate students at MIT to participate in research and service projects, both on campus and around the globe, that support our mission to bring the best science, technology and policy approaches to bear on the world’s environmental problems.
The ESI UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) positions take on a wide variety of challenges and change year to year, but all provide direct experience doing real-world environmental research and offer the opportunity to take the lead on a discrete element of a project with the ESI or one of our affiliates. We encourage undergraduates at all levels and in all majors to apply.
