About ESI-PEP

The Plastics Engineering Program (PEP) at MIT was founded in 1998 by the late Professor Alexander H. Slocum. The program is part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and offers a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing (MEng) degree in Plastics Engineering. The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of plastics engineering, as well as hands-on experience in the design and manufacture of plastic parts and products. The program is unique in that it combines the academic rigor of a traditional engineering program with the practical skills needed to succeed in the plastics industry.
